Tasting Note

88   2006 di Lenardo Vineyards Pinot Grigio       11/26/07 ($11)

13% alc
Color: Medium gold. (3.0) Bouquet: Green apple, pear and wet stones jump out of the glass. (3.0) Body: Solid middleweight with excellent acidity and good fruit. Has a viscous mouthfeel for a P.G. (3.0) Flavor: Parallels bouquet, but not as focussed. (2.5) Finish: Parallels bouquet, with impressive length (wet stones, green apple, litchi nut and petrol lingering), but a slightly icky over-ripeness is present. (2.5)
Overall: Very good, terrific for the price, showing impressive concentration and wet stone nuances. It has a slight ickyness to it that prevents it from reaching the next level of quality, but I really can't ask for more from a P.G. at this price. I find myself becoming a Friuli P.G. fan, when they have concentration. (14.0)
