ZaZu looks like a roadhouse diner, but don't let the appearance fool you, they make some serious food here.
They have an on-site farm where they get all their greens and eggs, which go into their fresh salads and homemade pastas. In addition, all of their meat is free range and local, and they cure their own salumi. We sampled a few of their slow roasted meats, including pig, lamb and young chicken, all were absolutely delicious! Some of the best meat I've had in recent memory. The dates or figs wrapped in bacon are also not to be missed. The chefs and owners are Duskie Estes and John Stewart, a wife and husband cooking team who are very talented and dedicated. We had a Limerick Lane Collins Vineyard Zinfandel (Russian River Valley) that went perfectly with the food. ZaZu is described best, in their own words, as a fusion of "playful Americana and rustic Northern Italian."
