Color: Very deep garnet. (3.5) Bouquet: Black pepper and ripe black fruit (black plum and dried black cherry) with other spices. Somewhat restrained. (3.0) Body: Rich maple syrup mouthfeel. Excellent fruit, acidity and tannins. Light heavyweight. (3.0) Flavor: Parallels bouquet, but fruit is more giving. (3.0) Finish: Black pepper really lingers here to accompany the fruit. Best part. (3.5)
Overall: Shows ripe black plum and dried black cherry fruit with excellent black peppery tannins, which are particularly strong in the finish. The fruit is restrained at present and will likely open in the next few years. Still very enjoyable now with a decant. (16)
