Tasting Note

89   2006 Villa Travignoli  Chianti Rufina  11/16/09 ($10)

   13% alc
Color: Medium brick red. (2.5) Bouquet: Perfumy cherry Sangiovese fruit with prominent red clay terroir and some sticks (forestal). (3.0) Body: Middleweight with excellent fruit and acidity. Coats the mouth very nicely. (3.0) Flavor: Parallels bouquet, but not quite as focused and a little more simple. (2.5) Finish: Parallels bouquet with more character returning combined with minerality. Also very good length. (3.0)
Overall: Talk about a very distinctive, true-to-form Tuscan Sangiovese at a great price. This is it!!! Easy to drink (certainly much easier than the overblown Stolpman L'Avion I just tasted). A joy in fact! Great with food too. If you like Chianti, buy this by the case. Great buy!!! (14.0)
