Tasting Note

88    2003 Torcalvano Gracciano V.N.D.M.     9/26/06 ($22)

Solid middleweight with rich Sangiovese fruit, excellent acidity and interesting nutty flavors. Is not built for aging, drink now and in the next 2 years, but is well balanced and very pleasing. A slight sulfur component is my only negative criticism. This is Kobrand’s VNDM and resembles (to my recollection) Ruffino’s equivalent, i.e., Lodola Nuova, in style.
