Tasting Note

90  2010 Terredora DiPaolo  Fiano di Avellino   12/21/11 ($21)

100% Fiano  13% alc
Color: Medium straw yellow. (3.0) Bouquet: Litchi nut and green apple with minerals and subtle nut nuances. (3.0) Body: Excellent fruit and acidity. Solid middleweight plus that's silky and tangy at the same time. (3.0) Flavor: Parallels bouquet, but more giving. (3.0) Finish: Fruit and zippy acidity show excellent length. (3.0)
Overall: Excellent litchi nut and green apple fruit propelled by acidity with nut nuances. Shows minerally tang and some ripeness as well. Somewhat closed when first opened, but becomes more giving with a couple of hours air. Decant for now drinking or give it 2-3 years. Excellent value too. Fiano somehow strikes me as a warmer climate version of Sancerre. (15.0)
