Tasting Note

90  2011  Tami  Frappato  (IGT-Sicilia)   9/26/14 ($17)

  12.5% alc
Color: Medium red to black cherry with slight onion skin at rim. (3.0) Bouquet: Creamy, tart cherry fruit with nuances of sesame oil and minerals. (3.0) Body: Light middleweight with excellent acidity and flavor intensity. Tangy mouthfeel. (3.0) Flavor: Parallels bouquet step-for-step. (3.0) Finish: Parallels again with musky cherry and minerals lingering. (3.0)
Overall: It's hard to believe how distinctive and elegant this is for the price. Shows tart cherry fruit with loads of minerality and an interesting nuance of sesame oil. Easy to drink and very food friendly, yet so light on its feet that it can be drunk by itself. Great value. (15.0)
