Tasting Note

91  2007  Sodaro  Felicity Cabernet Sauvignon  (Napa Valley)   9/20/14 ($45)

77% Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot, Petit Verdot, Malbec and Cabernet Franc.  14.5% alc
Color: Deep garnet, deeper than the Artemis. (3.0) Bouquet: Subtle Napa earth with nuances of clay, mushrooms and chocolate complement rich blackberry and black cherry fruit. (3.0) Body: Light heavyweight with excellent fruit and acidity. (3.0) Flavor: Parallels bouquet, but even more expressing. Big, delicious dusty Napa Cabernet fruit. (3.5) Finish: Not as sweet as the flavor with some astringency. (3.0)
Overall: Delicious Napa Cabernet with dusty, ripe blackberry and black cherry fruit lifted up by excellent acidity. Subtle clay, mushroom and chocolate nuances add interest. Drinking beautifully right now, probably at its best, but likely to hold for a couple more years. A very different wine than the Artemis. This is more about pure, forward fruit whereas the Artemis is about structure and elegance. (15.5)
