   13.5% alc
Color: Deep black cherry with some browning at the rim, but no clearing. (3.0) Bouquet: Precise sweet/tart raspberry and tart cherry propelled by lively minerality with nuances of peppermint, white pepper and subtle wet leaves and black truffle. (3.5) Body: Light heavyweight with outstanding fruit, acidity/minerality and very smooth tannins underneath. Silky/tangy mouthfeel. (3.5) Flavor: Parallels bouquet step-for-step. (3.5) Finish: Mineral propelled fruit, menthol and forestal nuances with a hint of brown sugar last a long time. (3.5)
Overall: This is classic 1er Cru Gevrey-Chambertin with precise red and black raspberry fruit, lively minerality and subtle forestal nuances backed up by outstanding acidity and very smooth tannins. This is one of Serafin's most consistent wines and was an outstanding value. This is $100 or so today. Still a very good value when you consider today's crazy prices for top notch Red Burgundy. (17)
