Tasting Note

88    2010  Seghesio  Sonoma County Zinfandel   4/7/12 ($20)

  14.8% alc
Color: Medium deep garnet. (3.0) Bouquet: A little eucalyptus complements vanilla-infused briary, ripw black plum sauce. (3.0) Body: Solid middleweight with excellent fruit and acidity. Silky mouthfeel with some tannin. (3.0) Flavor: Parallels bouquet, but shows sweeter fruit here. Definitely more herbal than the last few vintages. (3.0) Finish: Less distinctive with a little heat. (2.5)
Overall: Ripe black fruit supported by acidity with excellent weight and balance. Very tasty, but could be more distinctive. The ripeness also makes it less food-friendly. Could improve a little in the next couple of years. (14.5)
