Tasting Note

92       1997 Ridge Santa Cruz Mtns Chardonnay 5/29/05 ($22)

Color: 24-karat gold. Deep, pretty and developed. (3.5) Bouquet: Smooth, rich buttered toast with concentrated honeysuckle fruit and a touch of cedar. (3.0) Body: Excellent acidity and SCM minerality propelling rich fruit. Solid middleweight. (3.0) Flavor: Buttered popcorn and honeysuckle with elegant minerality. (3.0) Finish: Parallels flavor, but longer and more lively. Delicious. (3.5)
Overall: Tastes more youthful and fruity than the last bottle I had only two months ago. This one being totally peak and the last tasting a little old (Bottle variation). Again, reminiscent of a fine Chablis with its elegant minerality. (16.0)
