Tasting Notes

89   2008  Ridge  Three Valleys   7/3/10 ($18)

     74%Zinfandel, 11%PetiteSirah, 5%Carignane, 4%Mataro, 3%Syrah, 3%Grenache    14.2% alc
Color: Medium deep purple-garnet. (3.0) Bouquet: Clove and briar complement Zinberry fruit. (2.5) Body: Solid middleweight with very good fruit and acidity. Lively mouthfeel without being heavy. (3.0) Flavor: Parallels bouquet, but with more spice. (3.0) Finish: Parallels flavor. (3.0)
Overall: Shows excellent spice and Zinberry fruit with smooth drinkability from the blend. Possibly the most successful version of this wine to date. In many past vintages, the Three Valleys lacked identity for me. This version definitely has one. (14.5)
