olor: Deep gold. (3.0) Bouquet: Buttered croissant complements kiwi and poached pear fruit with spicy ginger. (3.5) Body: Lively, tangy mineral mouthfeel with richness. Outstanding fruit and acidity. Perfectly balanced. (4.0) Flavor: Parallels bouquet, but all the flavors are even more alive here. Wonderful. (4.0) Finish: Parallels flavor, but more laid back with elegant old Madeira nuances and a touch of bitterness. (3.0)
Overall: A gorgeous Santa Cruz Mtns Chardonnay with very lively kiwi and poached pear fruit complemented by buttered croissant. Also has outstanding minerality and a subtle spicy ginger nuance. A light heavyweight with a tangy, yet rich and caressing mouthfeel. The flavors in the mouth are intense, yet classy. Elegant old Madeira nuances linger in the finish. A great wine that's drinking beautifully right now. Should continue to develop nicely over the next 5 years. (17.5)
