91   2003   Ridge Independence School Zinfandel     9/25/05 ($28)

Color: Medium deep purple-garnet (3.0) Bouquet: Kirchwasser bouquet, combining sweet cherry and alcohol. Also interesting briar and bayleaf spice. Nice concentration. (3.0) Body: A balance of concentrated forward fruit, good acidity and spice. Fills the mouth nicely with some tannin supporting. (3.0) Flavor: Parallels bouquet, but richer and more distinctive. Also shows more structure here. (3.5) Finish: Parallels flavor, but young and a little unformed. Has a good dose of cedary oak, but handles it well with solid fruit and interesting Geyserville spice and game complementing. (3.0)
Overall: An excellent Zin blend from “Geyserville Township” that is delicious now after about an hour of air. It is likely to improve in the next 1-3 years, but interesting and delicious already. (15.5)
