Tasting Note

91+    2005  Poliziano Vino Nobile di Montepulciano   6/23/12 ($26)

 13.5% alc
Color: Deep garnet. (3.0) Bouquet: Roasted nuts and beef broth with mushroom. Lively cherry fruit with intensity. (3.5) Body: Light heavyweight with excellent acidity and fruit and lots of smooth tannins that coat the mouth. (3.5) Flavor: Parallels bouquet, but not quite as interesting. (3.0) Finish: Parallels flavor with hints of marzipan. Tannins linger in the mouth. (3.0)
Overall: This is really drinking well with lots of lively acidity generated energy and delicious cherry fruit. I really like the smooth, but substantial tannins too. This should continue to get more and more giving in the next few years. The fruit is more prominent now than when first released. (16.0)
