Tasting Note

93   2007   Pierre Matrot  Meursault-Perrieres    12/29/18  ($52)

   13.0% alc
Color: Bright, light gold with no browning to speak of. (3.0) Bouquet Distinct saline minerality and subtle buttered toast complement elegant pear fruit. (3.5) Body: Light heavyweight with outstanding ageworthy acidity qnd excellent fruit. Tangy saline mouthfeel. (3.5) Flavor: Parallels bouquet, but the fruit could be more expressive, still being slightly overpowered by the minerality and austere acidity. Still very pleasant. (3.0) Finish: Long, elegant mineral finish with tart pear fruit highlights. (3.5)
Overall: Love the intense minerality and structured acidity complemented by classic buttered toast nuances. Shows pretty pear fruit, but could use more. Still quite enjoyable now with food. The good news is that it's surprisingly young for 11 years old and should continue to develop and improve for another 5+ years. Drank 92 on day 1 and 93 on day 2. I think this could have held together for a week in the fridge with its amazing acidity. (16.5)
