Tasting Note

93   2015  Peay  Pomarium Pinot Noir (Sonoma Coast)   12/23/18  ($52)

   13.0% alc
Color: Deep black cherry. (3.0) Bouquet Spicy black cherry with Asian and baking spice complexity. (3.0) Body: Solid middleweight to light heavyweight with excellent fruit and acidity. Silky mouthfeel. (3.5) Flavor: Parallels bouquet, but the fruit is more expressive. (3.5) Finish: Long and delicious, very much like the flavor in the mouth. (3.5)
Overall: An outstanding Western Sonoma Coast Pinot with delicious black cherry fruit complemented by cooking and baking spices. Not quite as concentrated as the '14 or '12, which makes it more accessible as a young wine. Also quite elegant, even at this early stage. Drink now with an hours decanting or let it age for 2-5 years. (16.5)
