93   2012  Peay   Scallop Shelf Pinot Noir (Sonoma Coast)   12/9/15  ($56)

  13.7 % alc
Color: Deep black cherry. (3.0) Bouquet: Sweet black cherry with pretty sappiness. Intense, yet elegant with subtle spice nuances underneath. (3.5) Body: Solid middleweight plus with a silky mouthfeel. Excellent fruit and acidity. (3.0) Flavor: Sappy fruit really explodes here. Delicious! (3.5) Finish: Parallels bouquet step for step. (3.5)
Overall: A fantastic California Pinot Noir, showing elegant yet intense black cherry fruit with excellent acidity and subtle spice. Has a sappiness to the fruit that is typical of many top notch California Pinots, but this one is more pretty and light on its feet than most. Delicious now and in the next 3-4 years. (16.5)
