Tasting Note

92   2011  Peay  Pomarium  Pinot Noir (Sonoma Coast)   1/4/15  ($56)

  13.0% alc
Color: Medium raspberry. (3.0) Bouquet: Pretty raspberry fruit and subtle herb with a nuance of drawn butter. Elegant yet expressive. (3.0) Body: Solid middleweight with excellent fruit and acidity and very smooth tannins. (3.0) Flavor: Parallels bouquet, but more intense. (3.5) Finish: Even better than the flavor. Long and precise with concentration. (3.5)
Overall: An outstanding Pinot Noir with Burgundy minerality and Oregon fruit. Will be interesting to see if the herbal complexity blossoms with age. (16.0)
