Tasting Note

91+   2011  Peay  Estate Viognier (Sonoma Coast)   3/8/14 ($44)

   12.8% alc
Color: Light silver-yellow. (3.0) Bouquet: Very subtle ginger and nutmeg spice with sweet/tart apple and kiwi fruit. (3.0) Body: Light middleweight. Precise fruit and acidity. Tangy, delicate mouthfeel that coats. (3.0) Flavor: Parallels bouquet, but more expressive. Pretty. (3.5) Finish: Elegant spice and tang linger. More restrained than the flavor. (3.0)
Overall: A pretty, elegant wine with Viognier spice of ginger and nutmeg complementing sweet/tart and tangy apple and kiwi fruit. Could become more expressive with a little bottle age, 2-5 years. (15.5)
