Color: Very deep, dense black ruby. (3.5) Bouquet: Concentrated blackberry jam, black licorice and sweet tar with spice and crushed black pepper underneath. (3.5) Body: Heavyweight with outstanding fruit, acidity and smooth tannins. Rich mouthfeel that coats. (3.5) Flavor: A little less delicious and expressive than bouquet. (3.0) Finish: Long, but again not the bouquet. Has slight black licorice bitterness. (3.0)
Overall: An intense Syrah with loads of concentrated blackberry jam, black licorice and sweet tar. A heaightweight with rich, mouthcoating body. Not yet as expressive in the flavor and finish as the bouquet. Drink now and in the next 5 years. Likely to improve. (16.5)
