Tasting Note

90  2009 Odonata  Domani Vineyard Pinot Noir  (Santa Cruz Mtns)    1/1/12 ($33)

  13% alc
Color: Medium deep black cherry with a hint of purple. (3.0) Bouquet: Tart black cherry with subtle all spice nuance. Pretty. (3.0) Body: Solid middleweight with excellent fruit and acidity. Well balanced and elegant. Silky mouthfeel. (3.0) Flavor: Parallels bouquet, but fruit and spice are more expressive. (3.0) Finish: A little young and tart, needs some time to open and sweeten. (3.0)
Overall: A fine Santa Cruz Mtns Pinot Noir. Very well balanced with excellent tart black cherry fruit and acidity and interesting, subtle spice. It's already a joy to drink after an hour of decanting, but has the structure to age. I'd give it 3-4 years. (15.0)
