Color: Deep purple garnet. (3.0) Bouquet: Southern Italian clay, Kalamata olives and tangy hard cheese terroir complement rich black cherry fruit. (3.0) Body: Light heavyweight with excellent fruit and acidity. Rich, tangy, viscous mouthfeel. (3.0) Flavor: Parallels bouquet, but shows a little bitterness here. Still very tasty. (3.0) Finish: Best part! Rich and long with a lot of Southern Italian terroir combined with delicious fruit. (3.5)
Overall: An outstanding pasta in red sauce and pizza wine. Its Southern Italian character is very distinctive and rounded out beautifully by the rich black cherry fruit. The finish is particularly long and enticing. A delicious, young wine, but should hold and possibly improve in the next 5 years. Amazing for the price! (15.5)
