Tasting Notes

88+   2006  Chateau de Miniére  Bourgueil Cuvée les Bézards  7/8/10 ($15)

     100% Cabernet Franc     13% alc
Color: Medium raspberry garnet. (3.0) Bouquet: Spicy cinnamon, beef broth and radish with black cherry and cassis, also gray clay and a little pen ink. (3.0) Body: Solid middleweight with very good fruit and acidity and some tannin. (3.0) Flavor: Parallels bouquet, but not quite as interesting. There is also a slight edge to the acidity and a little bitterness. (2.5) Finish: Parallels bouquet with more distinction than the flavor, but tannin comes through more than fruit. (2.5)
Overall: A very good Bourgueil with excellent character. Just needs a bit more fruit concentration to be excellent. Still very enjoyable and ready to go. Excellent food wine. (14.0)
