Tasting Note

89    2005 Louis Michel Chablis    7/4/07 ($20)

Color: Medium yellow (2.5) Bouquet: Slate, gravel and mineral with dried pear and melon fruit. Nice intensity and fruit for the appellation. (3.0) Body: Middleweight with excellent crisp acidity and mineral supporting the fruit. Lively in the mouth. (2.5) Flavor: Parallels bouquet. (3.0) Finish: Parallels flavor, but lighter and more simple, but has length nonetheless. (2.5)
Overall: A very good Chablis, particularly for the appellation and price, that is showing very well right now. Has classic Chablis terroir and more fruit and character than one typically expects from a regular Chablis. Very lively, crisp and tasty. Drink now and in the next 2 years. (14.0)
