97% Syrah, 3% Viognier    14.5%alc
Color: Deep black garnet. (3.5) Bouquet: Red clay, wet leaves and briar complement musky, tart black cherry fruit. (3.5) Body: Solid middleweight with excellent fruit and acidity. Elegant , silky mouthfeel. (3.0) Flavor: Parallels bouquet with an elegant mid-palate. Could be more concentrated, but pretty. (3.0) Finish: Long, elegant and complex. Could be bigger and has a slight tartness, but precise. (3.0)
Overall: This is drinking beautifully right now. It has French terroir-like character with red clay, wet leaves and briar complexity, complementing musky tart cherry fruit. Elegant and interesting, drinking somewhere in between an outstanding Languedoc and a Northern Rhone. Only a solid middlweight and could have a stronger mid-palate, but may fill in more in the next 1-3 years. Excellent, food-friendly and easy to drink. (16.0)
