Tasting Note

86  2009 Thierry et Pascale Matrot  Bourgogne Rouge   2/13/11 ($25)

  12%alc
Color: Medium light purple strawberry. (2.5) Bouquet: Red raspberry, lively acidity and a touch of mineral. (2.5) Body: Middleweight with very good lean fruit and excellent acidity. (3.0) Flavor: Red raspberry and light cherry with a little veal broth. Simple, but lively with minerals. (3.0) Finish: Parallels flavor, but less giving. Lingers nicely for its weight. (2.5)
Overall: Lively and tasty with its bright, lean red raspberry and red cherry fruit, acidity and mineral. Very good quality, but a little boring. I'd be happy with it at $16, but not at $25. (13.5)
