Tasting Note

91   2010  Thierry et Pascale Matrot  Bourgogne Blanc   4/21/13 ($18)

   12.5% alc
Color: Medium bright gold. (3.0) Bouquet: Anise and tart apple propelled by minerality. (3.0) Body: Excellent acidity and fruit with a tangy mouthfeel and impressive richness for the appellation. Solid middleweight plus. (3.0) Flavor: Parallels bouquet with even more intensity to the minerality and anise. (3.5) Finish: Minerals linger, fruit is not quite as distinctive here. (3.0)
Overall: A truly impressive Bourgogne Blanc (a rarity), best version of this wine since their excellent 2007. Drinks more like a serious village wine. Intense minerality and excellent fruit on a solid middleweight frame. Drink now and in the next 5 years. (15.5)
