100% Carignan 50 yr old vines Biodynamic/Organic 13% alc
Color: Deep garnet. (3.0) Bouquet: Ripe black plum and slight prune with some spicy cola and a touch of leather and briar. (3.0) Body: Solid middleweight plus with excellent fruit and very good acidity and tannin. (3.0) Flavor: Parallels bouquet, but restrained with some oak. (2.5) Finish:Shows more than the flavor with fruit and cola lingering for 30+ seconds. (3.0)
Overall: This needs 2-3 years to totally open, but already shows excellent black plum fruit with spicy cola and some forestal and leathery nuances. The combination of fruit and complexity with structure to age is impressive for the price. Carignan just don't get no respect, but this one deserves it. (14.5)
