Color: Deep black raspberry. (3.0) Bouquet: Intense, tart red plum, raspberry and minerality with musky old vines character. (3.0) Body: A solid middleweight with light heavyweight intensity. Outstanding acidity-based structure with smooth almost imperceptible tannins underneath. Tangy mouthfeel. Racy. (3.5) Flavor: Parallels bouquet. (3.0) Finish: Very expressive and long, but still a little austere. (3.5)
Overall: This single vineyard, old vines Carignan is just reaching its peak, showing expressive tart red plum, cranberry and raspberry fruit with outstanding minerality and musky old vines character. Drink it now and in the next few years. (16.0)
