Color: Deep purple red to black raspberry. (3.0) Bouquet: Pronounced spicy red pepper nuances complement black raspberry fruit. (3.0) Body: Solid middleweight with excellent fruit and acidity and smooth tannins underneath. (3.0) Flavor: Tart red and black raspberries with red and green peppers. (3.0) Finish: Less distinctive than bouquet and flavor, but tart fruit still has excellent length. (3.0)
Overall: An excellent Bourgueil with precise, distinctive red and black raspberry fruit. The bouquet also has strong nuances of red and green peppers with a touch of spice. Best version of this wine for me since the excellent 2006. Classic Cab Franc complexity with fruit that is tart, lively and plentiful. Outstanding value. (15)
