Color: Healthy medium garnet with slight clearing. (3.0) Bouquet: Gray clay and mineral combined with black ink. Acidity propelled cassis fruit that could be more concentrated. (3.0) Body: Solid middleweight with nice acidity and interesting mineral, but could use more fruit and overall size, still balanced. (3.0) Flavor: Parallels bouquet, but more restrained. Still smooth and pleasing. (2.5) Finish: Parallels bouquet step-for-step with nice length for its size. (3.0)
Overall: Has a minerally character that is different for Pauillac, combined with more familiar flavors of black ink and gray clay. Enjoyable, but not impressive, needing more body and depth. Also not going anywhere, so drink up. (14.5)
