Tasting Note

92   2014  Livio Felluga  Pinot Grigio (Friuli Colli Orientali)   9/10/16  ($23)

   13% alc
Color: Bright silver yellow. (3.0) Bouquet: Minerals, sweet/tart grapefruit and subtle tart apple. (3.0) Body: Solid middleweight with excellent fruit and acidity. Has a lively saline mouthfeel that is compelling. (3.5) Flavor: More expressive in fruit and minerals than the bouquet.. (3.5) Finish: Fruit is not quite as forward, but minerals linger very nicely. (3.0)
Overall: This is about as exciting and serious as Italian Pinot Grigio gets. Shows impressive minerality and acidity-driven structure. The grapefruit and apple on top make it a joy to drink now, but has aging potential as well. Outstanding value. (16)
