Tasting Note

92   2015  La Cappuccina   San Brizio Soave    10/21/18  ($23)

100% Garganega    13% alc
Color: Deep gold to dark yellow straw, excellent intensity. (3.5) Bouquet: Brook stones and minerality complement sweet/tart apple and apricot fruit. (3.0) Body: Solid middleweight plus with excellent fruit and acidity. Nice silky viscosity in the mouth. (3.0) Flavor: Parallels bouquet with lime thrown in and all fruit flavors being distinctive. Has a sun-dried character to it that is very compelling. (3.0) Finish: Long, smooth mineral infused fruit. (3.5)
Overall: An impressive Soave showing prominent brook stone minerality and precise fruit intensity (apples, apricots, limes), almost tasting sun-dried but still fresh. Showed the minerality and smooth, viscous mouthfeel and some of the attractive fruit when opened, but the fruit became more precise and distinctive the longer it was opened. Drink now and in the next few years. Excellent value! (16.0)
