Tasting Note

91    2004 Kim Crawford Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 7/8/05 ($15)

Color: Light, healthy yellow. (2.5) Bouquet: Intense grass and grapefruit with fresh, flowery impressions thrown in. This shows more class than most NZ SBs, even in the bouquet. (3.5) Body: Excellent acidity propelling tasty, multilayered fruit. No rough edges. (3.0) Flavor: Tart key-lime pie fruit with mineral flavors making it light on its feet. Concentrated and delicious. (3.5) Finish: Parallels flavor, but not quite as smooth with less fruit and more tart acidity. Still long and tasty. (3.0)
Overall: This is fantastic stuff for the price and perfect for summer weather, with lots of fruit and refreshing tartness. It’s concentrated, but classy and always stays light on its feet. Great with food or by itself. Drink now and in the next 2 years. (15.5)
