Tasting Note

90   2005 Jacky Janodet  Domaine les Fines Graves  Chénas  11/1/09 ($17)

 13% alc
Color: Medium raspberry. (3.0) Bouquet: Tart strawberry and raspberry with watercress and minerally terroir. (3.0) Body: Middleweight with excellent acidity and fruit and elegant terroir. Very well balanced. Coats the mouth with mineral and fruit. (3.0) Flavor: Parallels bouquet step-for-step with a solid mid-palate and a touch of game. (3.0) Finish: Parallels flavor with subtle, somewhat racy, acidity-propelled persistence. (3.0)
Overall: This is top notch Cru Beaujolais with the elegance and complexity of a fine Red Burgundy. Shows the greatness of the vintage. It's a joy to drink already, but should gain more complexity with time, say 2-4 years. (15.0)
