Tasting Note

91+   2002  Louis Jadot  Auxey-Duresses  1/18/10 ($22)

    13.5% alc
Color: Medium light gold. Some signs of maturity. (3.0) Bouquet: Minerals with elegant buttered brioche and apple fruit. Has intensity and elegance combined with secondary nuances. (3.0) Body: Solid middleweight with excellent fruit and minerality. Lively in the mouth and coats nicely. (3.0) Flavor: Parallels bouquet, but a little richer and more giving. (3.0) Finish: Parallels flavor, but much more intense. An explosion of minerals, buttered brioche and tart MacIntosh apple go on and on. (3.5)
Overall: White Auxey can be a great value in white Burgundy and this is definitely one of them. Shows a combination of minerality and concentrated fruit similar to a Puligny-Montrachet, just not quite as elegant. At its best now and in the next couple of years. I'll say it again, Great value!!! (15.5)
