Tasting Notes

87   2008  Inniskillin  Niagara Series Pinot Noir (Niagara Penninsula)   6/19/10 ($14)

     12.0% alc
Color: Light red/black cherry. (2.5) Bouquet: Clean red cherry Pinot fruit with very good acidity and a little cinnamon spiced apple. (2.5) Body: Light middleweight with very good fruit and acidity. (2.5) Flavor: Parallels bouquet with a subtle game nuance. (3.0) Finish: Parallels flavor, but a little short. (2.5)
Overall: A charming, fruit-forward Pinot Noir that is light, but true to the varietal. Has some spiced apple thrown in and even a touch of game. A perfect summer red and an excellent value. Reminds me of some of the fine, inexpensive Pinots that used to come out of the Russian River Valley (don't see these at this price anymore). (13.0)
