92 1999 V.Girardin Pommard les Chapponieres 5/9/05 ($50)
Rich red and black raspberry fruit in a smooth, solid middleweight package. Has excellent acidity and sufficient tannin supporting the fruit and nuances of black truffles and wet leaves. Has a prominent mineral component that adds to its liveliness. Very similar to Girardin's Santenay les Gravieres from this vintage, but bigger. Drink now and in the next year.
