Tasting Note

Color: Beautiful, deep rich black cherry with a touch of purple. (3.5) Bouquet: Cinnamon spiced veal broth with tart black cherry fruit. Excellent acidity really lifts the spice, almost like Central Coast P.N., but forestal terroir components remind you it’s Burgundy. (3.0) Body: Silky texture with excellent fruit and acidity. Well-balanced and delicious with a little spicy attitude, almost more Santenay than SLB. Nice concentration. (3.0) Flavor: Parallels bouquet step-for-step. Very tasty. (3.0) Finish: It all continues on the lingering, classy finish. Can still taste it a minute later. (3.0)
Overall: Very tasty B that has a fine SLB profile of fruit and balance combined with a ripe vintage attitude. Very solid stuff and very tasty. Nothing amazing here (SLB almost never is), but the color is particularly deep. Its concentration is promising and it may be even better than its 2002 counterpart. Could improve in the next 1-3 years.
