85 2001 Vincent Girardin Santenay Les Gravieres 7/10/04 ($24)
Shows some of the terroir and class that one would expect from a Burgundy, especially in the bouquet, but lacks fruit and is a bit green and lacking in body. Rich in color, but the flavor and finish show its weaknesses most. Enjoyable, but not worth the price. Girardin’s SLB Les Peuillets from this vintage is quite a bit better.
