Tasting Notes

87   2007  Four Vines  Old Vine Cuvee Zinfandel   4/18/10 ($12)

     14.6% alc
Color: Medium deep garnet. (3.0) Bouquet: Tart, jammy berries, acidity and some spice. A little alcohol. (2.5) Body: Excellent acidity and very good fruit. Smooth texture that coats the mouth somewhat. Solid middleweight with some heat. (2.5) Flavor: Parallels bouquet, with briary spice complementing acidity-driven fruit. (3.0) Finish: Parallels flavor, but has an alcohol/acidity bite. (2.5)
Overall: Shows very good flavor concentration with some briary old vines character. Alcohol and acidity give it a little bite, but still quite enjoyable and can stand up to food. Very good value. (13.5)
