Tasting Note

90   2007  Domaine de Fontsainte Resérve  La Demoiselle (Corbières)  3/8/13 ($13)

  60% Carignan (100 year old vines), 30% Grenache, 10% Mourvedre   13% alc
Color: Deep garnet. (3.0) Bouquet: Mineral, blueberries and raspberries. (3.0) Body: Tangy, somewhat silky mouthfeel. Excellent mineral/acidity with very good fruit. Solid middleweight. (3.0) Flavor: Parallels bouquet with some cooking spices. (3.0) Finish: Long with lots of minerality. (3.0)
Overall: An elegant, interesting old vines Carignan with intense minerality. Also shows subtle, but precise raspberry/blueberry fruit. Really shows a lot of class for the price and has developed a silky mouthfeel with a few years bottle age. Can be drunk with lighter fare or by itself. At its best now and in the next couple of years. Great value! (15.0)
