Tasting Note

93   2012  Fontefico   Titinge Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Riserva    4/21/18  ($34)

100% Montepulciano   14.5.0% alc
Color: Very deep purple garnet. (3.5) Bouquet: Concentrated dried black cherries and black currants complemented by cedar, anise and dusty briar nuances. (3.5) Body: Heavyweight with excellent fruit, acidity and smooth tannins. Silky mouthfeel that coats beautifully. (3.5) Flavor: Parallels bouquet, but not quite as expressive. (3.0) Finish: Concentrated fruit and smooth cedary tannins go on and on. (3.5)
Overall: Concentrated black cherry and black currant fruit are lively and intense with nuances of cedar, anise and dusty briar making it interesting. A wonderful Montepulciano Riserva at a great price. This is outstanding now after giving it air in the glass and could get better in the next few years. (17)
