Tasting Note

94   2009  Foillard  Morgon Corcelette (Cru Beaujolais)   4/30/16  ($40)

   13% alc
Color: Very deep black cherry. (3.5) Bouquet: Complex game and forestal complexity complements concentrated bitter cherry, minerals and white chalk. (3.0) Body: Light heavyweight with excellent fruit, acidity and minerality. Full, silky mouthfeel. (3.5) Flavor: Parallels bouquet, but complexity and fruit are more expressive. (3.5) Finish: Best part. Fruit is particularly sweet and concentrated here. (3.5)
Overall: A very fine, mature Morgon. Shows outstanding flavor concentration and complexity with bitter cherry fruit, game, forest floor, black truffle, mineral and chalk nuances. Elegant with a persistent finish. Probably at its best now, but should hold for 2-3 more years, maybe longer. (17)
