Color: Deep garnet. (3.0) Bouquet: Raw beef, tart black cherry, mineral, spicy beef broth and dusty Tuscan terroir. (3.5) Body: Light heavyweight with excellent fruit and acidity. Smooth tannins underneath. Silky, tangy mouthfeel. (3.5) Flavor: Fruit is pretty, flowery and very expressive. Parallels bouquet. (3.5) Finish: Excellent, but not quite as expressive and intense as flavor. (3.0)
Overall: Elegant, delicious CC Riserva in a classic style. It shows pretty black cherry fruit that is tart and racy, along with minerals, spicy beef broth and dusty Tuscan terroir. It's probably at its best right now, showing impressive flavor intensity and being totally smoothed out. An elegant, light heavyweight. Drink this while waiting for the '04 and '06 to reach full maturity. (16.5)
