Tasting Note

91+  2010  Eric Kent  Sascha Marie  Pinot Noir (Sonoma Coast)    10/1/12 ($48)

  14.5% alc
Color: Deep raspberry to black cherry. (3.0) Bouquet: Tart concentrated black cherry and sweet cola with excellent acidity. (3.5) Body: Excellent fruit and acidity and very good fruit with smooth tannins and a touch of alcohol underneath. Light Heavyweight. (3.5) Flavor: Parallels bouquet with a slight bitterness from alcohol. (3.0) Finish: Parallels flavor with length. (3.0)
Overall: A big Pinot Noir that shows distinctive tart black cherry and cola fruit. Ageworthy, acidity-based structure and smooth tannins supporting. A touch of heat underneath, but nothing the fruit and structure can't handle. If drinking now, decant for 1-2 hours. Will likely improve in the next 5 years. (16.0)
