Tasting Note

90+  2010  Diochon  Moulin à Vent  Vielles Vignes    9/30/12 ($22)

  13% alc
Color: Deep purple black cherry. Particularly deep for Beaujolais. (3.5) Bouquet: Sweet black raspberry, black cherry, plum and pomegranate with some earthiness combined with mineral. Rich, precise and attractively rustic. (3.0) Body: Solid middleweight plus with excellent fruit and acidity. Smooth tannins underneath. (3.0) Flavor: Parallels bouquet with some funky game. (3.0) Finish: Long, smooth and silky. The fruit seems more pure here. (3.0)
Overall: Excellent Cru Beaujolais that is already a pleasure to drink with sweet black raspberry, black cherry, plum and pomegranate fruit. Also has very good minerality and a slight funky game component. Very tasty now with food, but should improve in the next 3-5 years. (15.5)
