Tasting Note

90+   2013  Diochon  Moulin a Vent (Cru Beaujolais)   9/18/15  ($23)

100% Gamay   13% alc
Color: Deep raspberry to black cherry. (3.0) Bouquet: Beef jerky and subtle game complement framboise liqueur fruit and a nuance of white chalk. (3.0) Body: Solid middleweight with a rich, silky mouthfeel. Excellent fruit and acidity. (3.0) Flavor: Parallels bouquet, but more open and giving in fruit with tangy minerality. (3.5) Finish: Long and tangy, but slightly restrained. Should open with time in bottle. (3.0)
Overall: An excellent Moulin a Vent that is very well balanced with framboise liqueur fruit and nuances of beef jerky, game and white chalk. Not as concentrated as Foillard's or Lapierre's Morgon, but more accessible now. Should improve in the next 4-5 years. (15.5)
