93   2009  Dehlinger   Goldridge Syrah (Russian River Valley)   3/16/18  ($40)

   14.9% alc
Color: Deep ruby garnet. (3.0) Bouquet: Black raspberry and bitter cherry combine with subtle incense, anise, lavender and black pepper. (3.5) Body: Light heavyweight with excellent fruit, acidity and smooth tannins. Silky/tangy mouthfeel that coats. (3.5) Flavor: Parallels bouquet, but shows a little edgy acidity. Minerality makes it lively. (3.0) Finish: Long and tasty, yet classy for CA Syrah. Subtle herbs and anise linger. (3.5)
Overall: A classy RRV Syrah with excellent acidity-driven structure. Outstanding nuances of incense, anise, lavender and black pepper combine with pure black raspberry and bitter cherry fruit. Drink now after decanting an hour plus or age another 2-3 years. (16.5)
